This trend started 70 years ago
The oldest of the twins living in this village is 65 years old. It is believed that twins were born in this village since then. Initially, only a few twins were born, but later it accelerated and now twins are being born at a very high rate. This can be substantiated by the fact that nearly half of the total twins were born in the last 10 years.Â
This cause so much trouble
Due to having so many twins in the same village, people also have to face problems. Especially in school where it becomes difficult for teachers to differentiate between children. The second biggest problem comes to newly married couples who do not even understand for a few days who their life partner is. Interestingly, if one of these twins is sick, then another one also fall sick.
No cogent study to explain this
What is the reason behind so many twins being born in this place, it is still unknown. Earlier, doctors attributed this to the dietary habits of residents here, but the food of the people of this area is similar to that of other areas of Kerala. Hence this argument was rejected. To date, there is no promising study that defines this phenomenon.
