Ram Setu, which lies in Palk strait, is known by the world as Adam’s Bridge. There are many mind baffling incidents that give testimony of its elusive nature. According to Hindu religious texts, this is a bridge that was built by Lord Shri Ram to reach Lanka with his army.
This bridge starts from Rameswaram in India and connects Mannar in Sri Lanka. Many aspects of Ram Setu are still out of the ambit of known science. A few times back, an American Science Channel confirmed the veracity of the existence of Ram Setu and told it to be related to the Ramayana period. It is said that there are many such stones between Rameshwaram and Sri Lanka which are about 7000 years old.
Let us tell you that till the 15th century, people used to travel from Rameshwaram to Mannar on foot through Ram Setu.
What Indian mythology tells us?
When Lord Rama was marching Lanka to kill Ravana, the biggest impediment was the sea to cross. For this, Lord Rama planned the construction of a bridge. When Lord Shri Ram sought help from the ocean for the construction of a bridge,Ocean told that Nal and Neel in your army have full knowledge of the construction of a bridge. Ocean told Lord Rama that Nal and Neel would surely succeed in the task of building the bridge. The construction of this 50km long bridge was completed in just 5 to 6 days.

American show bolstered the man-made bridge theory
In December 1917, in an American TV show “Ancient Land Bridge” on the Science Channel, American archaeologists, based on scientific investigation, concluded that the Hindu legend of Lord Rama building a bridge to Sri Lanka could be true. This bridge between India and Sri Lanka is made of rocks and these rocks are 7000 years old while the sand on which these rocks rest is 4000 years old. This discrepancy in the age of the rocks and sand suggests that the bridge may have been built by humans.
